A new magical accessory has arrived for Kindle readers who like their e-reading with a little more Hogwarts house pride.
Amazon is now selling limited-edition Harry Potter cases for the Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Colorsoft, with four designs available: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. Each cover is themed around one Hogwarts house, making this a very tidy little upgrade for anyone whose Kindle has been looking a bit too Muggle lately.
The cases are designed for Amazon’s newer Kindle models, including the 2024 Kindle Paperwhite, 2024 Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition, Kindle Colorsoft and Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition. An important note: These are not listed for older Kindle Paperwhite models, so readers will want to double-check their device before adding one to the cart.
A Cozy Add-On for a Wizarding World Reread
The timing is perfect for anyone planning a summer reread ahead of the Christmas premiere of the HBO TV series, starting the series again on Kindle or building out a more Potter-themed reading setup. The cases are currently listed at $49.99 each. Since Amazon describes them as limited-edition cases, anyone with a strong house allegiance may not want to wait too long, especially if one design proves more popular than the others.
Of course, the real question is whether your Kindle case should match your actual house, your favorite house or the house you simply think has the best design. We won’t tell your Head of House.
Prefer Listening? The Full-Cast Audiobooks Are Here Too
If your Hogwarts reread is more audiobook than e-book, the new Harry Potter full-cast audio editions are also available on Audible. These editions give the series a more cinematic feel, with a large cast, immersive sound design and a different experience from the classic Jim Dale and Stephen Fry narrations.
